About Genesia Ventures

Genesia Ventures is an independent venture capital firm that provides investment and management support to pre-seed and seed stage startups. With four offices in Japan (Tokyo), Indonesia (Jakarta), India (Bengaluru) and Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), it aims to build a platform for the creation of large-scale sustainable industries across Asia, together with stakeholders that include startups, corporations, investors, governments, and non-profit organizations.

Investment

In May 2023, Genesia closed 3rd fund with a total capital of $110M. Our local presence in Vietnam empowers us to take the lead and follow roles in various investment instruments such as equity, convertible notes, and SAFE notes. We maintain a sector-agnostic approach and primarily concentrate on startups at the pre-seed to pre-Series A stage.

With a selective investment strategy, we prioritize doubling down on our well-performing portfolio companies. Our initial investment could be up to $1M, while follow-on may extend to $5 million. In a specific portfolio company, we made 3 investments in just 1.5 years as both a lead and follow investor.

Progress

We strive for enhanced efficiency and continuous improvement in our process. Closing a deal requires collaboration among multiple stakeholders, making it challenging to establish fixed timelines. However, to provide a tangible example, Fundiin deal is closed over approximately one month from the initial meeting to “ting ting” in the bank account.
